We explored the frost this morning, where had the frost come from and why were some places still frosty, whilst other places felt wet?
Year 1 had lots of brilliant ideas and plenty of predictions about the weather this autumn and what might happen in winter.
Next we explored the wide variety of leaves that have fallen in our grounds, collecting as many different leaves as we could.
Small, smaller, smallest, large, larger, largest, bigger and biggest. We sorted into types, colours, size and some children even identified the types of trees they had fallen from using identification cards.
There was plenty of measuring, comparing and discussion about size.
We even noticed silk button galls and spangle galls on the underside of oak leaves.
WHAT A BUSY MORNING, WELL DONE YEAR 1!
