This week in Nursery….

we have enjoyed an exciting week focussing on our theme of Growing.

In Maths seeds have been sorted, counted and totalled before planting in our vegetable raised bed.  We have also been learning about positional language: deciding which vegetables would grow above or below ground, and where to plant each seed – in front of, behind or next to other seeds.

In Phonics we have differentiated between animal sounds and listened for initial sounds in words and were very excited firstly by the arrival  of our class caterpillars and then the duck eggs in school to put this into practice. We sound talked different name suggestions for the first duckling to hatch, before pulling the name ‘Princess’ out of a hat!

We have also been learning about how plants and animals change over time as they grow and have researched how our caterpillars and Princess will look as she gets older.

Enjoy your weekend Nursery, you have

had a busy week!
