Our week in Year 1

Letter writing
We did some more planting this week with Mrs Conn.

The cress has started to grow but the strawberries are yet to make an appearance! Fingers crossed!
We continued to read Dear Greenpeace this week and Miss Coleman told the class about the gorilla that she had found living in her garden! Year 1 came up with some brilliant questions that she could include in her letter to the WWF asking for some more information about the animals, and the children had a go at writing their own letters. Our phonics sound this week has been ue/u-e/ew/oo and the children have shown great resilience and resourcefulness trying to spot this tricky sound in their reading books, the books in the reading corner and around the classroom. Our spellings this week also include this sound! Finally well done to Year 1 for singing so beautifully and being so prayerful at the Corpus Christi procession this week. We had a really lovely morning!
