This week in Nursery…

we have been continuing to explore our topic of Growing. We  have been learning about the minibeasts that live in our gardens: how to identify them, how they move and where they like to live; learning about symmetry on butterfly wings and counting spots on ladybirds. A highlight has been the emergence of our butterflies from their cocoons today. Next week we will be able to release them onto leaves down the Wiggly Path.

Our Nursery garden is also changing with growth and lots of green shoots showing that our peas, carrots and lettuce are growing well and will soon be ready to harvest. In Phonics we have been practising identifying initial sounds in words and playing I spy with initial sounds in our lovely outdoor garden space.

We have also enjoyed being part of our school’s wonderful Corpus Christi celebrations on Thursday and finished off the week by being joined for Busy Fingers and our Morning Prayer  this morning by lots of fantastic  parents and grandparents . We even got to show them our first butterfly to hatch out of its cocoon. Thank you!
