Saturday 16th July sees the launch of the library summer reading challenge. Go along to the library with your library card and sign up for the challenge which runs until 10th September. The challenge is to read SIX library books over the summer; for every two books read you will receive a story card to stick into your reading pack when you tell the librarian something about your books.
For the past 11 years, St Margaret Clitherow school has had the most children in Stevenage to complete the challenge. Lots of children were keen to join today when Brona from the library came to talk to us in assembly.
Check out the Big Friendly Read page on the library website for more information, extra activities and games. If you are away during the holiday, sign up for the Library app and read an e-book instead. Children who are 11 and above are encouraged to enter the online Imagination project – Mrs Edmonds has promised Maltersers for everyone who completes the challenge including those moving up to Secondary school in September.
A big launch is planned at the library on Saturday 16th July from 10.0am to 4.0pm with fun, games, and activities. Every child who enters gets free entry into the Roald Dahl museum – details when you sign up!
