Year 2 have worked really hard this week.
In Maths we have been counting in steps of 2, 3 5 and 10 from any number forwards and backwards. We had great fun investigating numbers using the digit cards too.
In English we read the story of “Funnybones” and thought about our favourite part of the story giving reasons for our opinions. This will help us with our weekend reading task this week. Thank you for working hard on the reading at home. remember it is also important to bring your spelling sheet back to school to get your sticker each Friday.
Our class novel is “Esio Trot” by Roald Dahl. We enjoyed exploring “Tortoise Speak” and wrote some interesting character descriptions of Mr Hoppy, Mrs Silver and Alfie. We have really improved our sentences this week making sure that we are careful where we put full stops and capital letters. Exclamation marks are also appearing in our writing now!
In RE this week we have focused on the school prayer and what it means for us. We have been learning a beautiful hymn about how we can be a candle in the darkness to show God’s love in our world.
We enjoyed watching “Hector’s World” to help us to start learning about staying safe online. This week we thought about being careful with our personal details when we are online. You can find the resources on http://www.thinkuknow.co.uk
Well done Year 2 a great week of work and play. Have a lovely weekend.
