This week in Year 3 we have been learning about the sacrament of Baptism and thinking about what it means to live a Christian life. In maths we have focused on our mental maths skills, brushing up on our number facts that add and subtract to 20 as well as revising our number bonds to 10 so we can recall them quickly and accurately. In English we finished off this term’s poetry unit, looking at rhythm and rhyme. We worked in groups to perform a poem called ‘the bug chant’ by Tony Mitton. We also wrote our own chants about snakes using interesting adjectives- one of my favourite ideas the class suggested was ‘sinister’. We started learning about the food groups in science this week too. Finally, we spent the afternoon finishing our Rangoli patterns from last week.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Please remember to bring in your Reading Challenge certificates on Monday.
Congratulations to Grace, Leon and Joshua for getting Star of the Week this week (the first three weeks of term)
