Another busy day on day 3 of SHINE week. We looked at what ‘difference’ means and how diversity teaches us so much. We worked together in groups to create our own Diversity poems.
We then focused on refugees and how they are ordinary people, just like you and me. We thought about the problems they face when arriving in a strange country and ranked them in order of importance.
There was great excitement this afternoon during our ‘needs and want’ auction where we bid for items which we thought would be essential if we were a refugee. We all used our 400 citizen credits wisely to buy things such as a mobile phone, food, shelter, photos of our family and clothes. Two groups decided their money would be better spent if they joined forces-a great idea!
