This week in Year 1 we read the story Billy’s Bucket about a little boy who asks for a bucket for his birthday only to find the next day that it has disappeared. We peered into the bottom of the bucket in our classroom and saw lots of wonderful sea creatures only to find our bucket disappear the following day too. We wrote lists of people around the school we could ask who might have known where our bucket was and wrote questions to ask them describing the creatures we had seen in the bucket. We eventually found our bucket in Reception with Billy Bear snorkelling inside! We started our History learning for this half term today and talked about people who are important to us. We then learned about some other important people – The Queen, Neil Armstrong and Mother Teresa and wrote about who we thought was the most important. It was very interesting to hear everyone’s different points of view. We will be continuing our History learning next week, when we start learning about explorers! Well done for a fabulous week Year 1!
