Wow Year 2 have worked so hard this week. “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl is our class novel this half term and we have loved meeting Charlie Bucket and learning all about him and his family. We wrote some excellent character descriptions of Charlie. We were able to think of some interesting adjectives to describe him and used the dictionaries to find some alternative words we could use. We designed some new and exciting treats that Mr. Wonka could develop in his inventing room. Yum!
In our Maths lessons we have been learning about fractions. We are able to divide shapes into halves and quarters. We developed our understanding of sharing quantities into equal groups too. We played lots of games this week to help us to learn our 2x table and tried 50 club for the first time.
We really used our imaginations this week when we were faced with a huge sheet of paper which we could turn into anything we wanted to! We were only allowed to use tape and scissors. Turtles, crowns, stars and chocolate factories soon appeared! Everybody was really absorbed in the task and it was amazing to see how resourceful you are Year 2. Well done.
The snow flurry provided some fun too!
Don’t forget your weekend reading. Everybody needs indoor shoes now that the weather is wet. Wellington boots would be great next week please, as we want to do some work outside. Thank you.
