Our focus this week was the story ‘Lost and found’ by Oliver Jeffers. It inspired us to write our own stories to tell the penguin on the long boat journey. Lots of blending went on using the penguin sound cards. We learned about the South Pole where penguins live and Mrs Cooper even made it snow (!) on Friday so we could pretend we were real penguins.
Exploring what ice is made from enabled us to make our own ice bergs to put in the water tray. We also made some glittery snow dough which smelled like toothpaste. In maths, we used the balance scales to compare the weight of different penguins. Did you know that the biggest things aren’t always the heaviest?
Reception have a good rest this weekend as next week you will have to ‘Run, run as fast as you can…’. Can you guess our theme for next week?
