This week in Year 6

I can’t believe it’s Friday already! It’s been another hectic week!
We used Elizabeth Wang’s beautiful ‘Bridge to Heaven’ image in RE this week and thought about how we can give ourselves to Jesus and the various sacrifices we can make.
Persuasive writing has been our focus this week in literacy. We found the features, took part in a series of mini debates and then we wrote our own persuasive pieces about homework! I was persuaded on many occasions – well done all of you!
We’ve now covered all types of fractions, it’s been a marathon but we’ve finally reached the end! That means we can now attempt all of the questions in our weekly arithmetic tests – using all 4 operations and all 4 operations with mixed numbers and with whole numbers!
We started our geography topic this week – natural disasters.
I have included some videos from the children’s music lesson this week. They worked together to create their own compositions about the build up and aftermath of the sinking of the Titanic.
Have a fabulous weekend!
