This week we held a Story Making Week, to coincide with World Book Day on Thursday and to practise and extend our literacy skills. The children have been looking in detail at a book in their focus groups; joining in with refrains; anticipating what might happen next; learning about characters; re telling stories in sequence; creating their own storybooks; developing stories on iPads, puzzles and in paintings! We especially enjoyed joining in with the rest of the school at a special World Book Day assembly…the costumes were amazing!
and a special thank you to those who were able to join us for our Maths Morning on Monday. The children really enjoyed sharing activities with you that help them count, recognise numerals, match number and quantity, develop awareness of shapes and their properties and create repeating patterns…all through playful learning!
