Activities for Nursery

Hello Nursery!

It has been lovely to see some new faces this week. We have had a great time and I’m looking forward to seeing more of you back next week.

All of the Nursery staff miss not being all together as a class and I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Below are some activities for you to have a go at over the next week. I hope you enjoy doing them!

  •  Have a look at the following simple words: dog, mat, hat, leg and sun. Can you sound them out and squeeze them together? For example, d-o-g…dog. Can you think of any other words you can sound out?
  • Choose a story you know well such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar or The Gruffalo. Share your chosen story with an adult. Can you think of any actions to go with the story? Your family can join in with the actions too! What is your favourite part of the story? Why?
  • Go for a nature walk to your local park. Can you see any signs of summer? What can you hear and smell? Can you spot any flowers? What minibeasts can you find? Where were they?
  •  What shapes can you find around your house? For example, a clock is a circle. Can you find anything that is a square or a rectangle? What other shapes can you find?
