Hello Year 5!

Hello Year 5!
We hope you are still enjoying your time at home and have made the most of being indoors while the weather has turned. It was lovely to speak to some of you on the phone this week and hear what you have been getting up to. We all miss seeing one another but it was at least nice to hear your voices.
We hope you enjoyed completing last week’s tasks. Here are some more for this week!
Choose one book that you have read since being in Lockdown and write a thorough book review. This should include: title, author, illustrator (if there is one), book cover, your star rating out of 5 and why you have given it that score, basic plot and character description (synopsis) and who you would recommend it to.
Spelling: Practise the next 10 words from the Year 5/6 Statutory Spellings list in your reading diary.
Write four time problems for other people in your family to solve. This can be done as word problems, clock faces or timetables (e.g for a bus/ train) with questions.
3) R.E
Create a Pentecost picture or collage using any materials of your choice. Google “Pentecost artwork” to help inspire you.
4) Geography
Choose any country and create an information leaflet or poster to present your research. This can include information such as: climate, food, cultural traditions, flag, population, famous people from that country, a map and famous landmarks/ places to visit, animals, entertainment etc.

If you would like to do some more home learning you can look at the weekly update for Year 5 on https://classroomsecrets.co.uk/free-home-learning-packs/

We miss you lots!
