Hello Year 5!
Another week in lockdown over. One step closer to summer holidays! We hope you are all well and safe. Here are this week’s activities.
Using the same Alma video from last week as inspiration, create a wanted poster for who you think is organising the doll/child capturing process. Your poster will need to include a picture and some description. Think about what their name is, what they are wanted for, key features that make them recognisable, reward amount, where they were last spotted and what they were wearing.
Practise the next 10 words from the Year 5/6 Statutory Spellings list in your reading diary.
Solve this problem:
I am thinking of a number between 0 and 99. What is it?
Here are eight clues to use:
- The number is greater than 9.
- The number is not a multiple of 10.
- The number is a multiple of 7.
- The number is odd.
- The number is not a multiple of 11.
- The number is less than 200.
- Its ones digit is larger than its tens digit.
- Its tens digit is odd.
Four of the clues are true but do nothing to help in finding the number.
Four of the clues are necessary for finding it.
Can you sort out the four clues that help and the four clues that do not help in finding it?
In school this week we posed a hypothetical question: If money was no limit and you could travel anywhere new in the world, where would it be and why? We would like you to look at a map of the world and choose somewhere at RANDOM- an unknown country to you- and find out as much as possible amount them (climate, culture, tourism points, landscapes etc.) Then write 5 bullet points as to why you would want to go there and 5 bullet points explaining why you might not want to visit there.
Research and choose some artwork from another culture and create your own art piece in that style. It could be Chinese, Caribbean, African, Middle Eastern etc.
